We deliver several solutions for monitoring tires.

Correct tire pressure is crucial, and there a many different ways to test it.  Just click on the solution you like to use for detailed information.

Your safety is important

Tires play a crucial role in the safety of a vehicle. As the only part of the car that physically touches the ground, tires are one of the key factors affecting a vehicle’s handling and overall safety.

The difference between a properly- and under-inflated tire is very difficult to see. Only an actual tire pressure check will show you if your tires are properly inflated. Note that tire a tire pressure check must be carried out within 2 miles of driving. Otherwise, the temperature in the tire will have risen, resulting in incorrect inflation.

Tires that are under-inflated wear out more quickly and cause more drag on the road, thus reducing valuable fuel economy. The TPMS will save you money by giving you a simple way to ensure tire pressure. Properly inflated tires will give you better gas mileage, a smoother ride and will make your tires last longer.

Under inflation of tires is a serious safety concern as it forces excessive flexing on the sidewalls. This added stress on the tire can build up extra internal heat and cause tire failure.

Research indication

Research indicates that one in three cars or light trucks are being driven with one or more significantly under inflated tires (source: U.S. National Traffic and Safety Administration).

Tire maintenance check list

Tyres will provide greater life if they are properly maintained - it is an inexpensive task which takes only a few minutes at regular intervals. The following Check List will be helpful in this task:

  1. Check the correct pressures against the manufacturer's recommendations as given in the vehicle Handbook.
  2. Adjust pressures as necessary.
  3. Clean dirt from valves and fit valve caps all round.
  4. Remove stones and other foreign objects from treads.
  5. Have the steering alignment checked if front tires show signs of excessive or uneven wear.
  6. Examine brakes if tires show signs of wear through wheel locking.
  7. Have front wheels and tires balanced if there are signs of vibration, wheel wobble or patchy tire wear.

Tyre care on the road

The way in which a car is driven can contribute to excessive tire wear and damage. For example, not adjusting the pressures when the vehicle is fully laden or when driven at high speeds are major contributors. The following additional advice will help to protect your tires:

  1. When undertaking long journeys, especially at speed on motorways, examine the tires both before and during the journey (but do not check pressures while the tires are warm).
  2. Avoid harsh braking, fierce acceleration and fast cornering (the steering wheel of cars with power-steering should not be turned while they are stationary).
  3. Avoid driving over or scrubbing against kerb edgings or other raised obstructions.
  4. If it is absolutely necessary to drive over rough, uneven, unmade ground or over ground littered with debris, check the tires soon afterwards to ensure that no foreign objects have become trapped in the tread patterns and examine the sidewalls for cuts or bulges.

We have the solution

Cowealth TPMS Wireless issues early warnings of potential tire failure by checking tire pressure and temperature in real time. Drivers are well-informed right at their driver seats with the most up-to-date tire condition reports from Cowealth TPMS Wireless.

Most modern tires have steel, radial-belted construction. This design structure makes the sidewalls very stiff. Even if a tire is as much as SEVEN PSI low, it is hard to tell "by eye" that it needs air. The Cowealth Tire Pressure Monitor System would alert you well before a tire ever got that low, and way before any safety danger could exist! This early warning could represent the difference between life and death.

Compulsory in the USA

Tire pressure detection device is compulsory on new cars manufactured on and beyond 2003 in the United States. Click on the image Official text of ruling on TPMSto view the ruling.
